I share the room in Thornliebank with my colleague, Gillian Griffiths. We both work independently, under the advertising name ListenER.

Gillian Griffiths has more than 20 years’ experience of teaching and counselling in schools.

She has managed school counselling services as well as providing bereavement counselling in a hospice. She is a qualified person-centred therapist with an MSc in Psychological Counselling. She has also undertaken further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies and play therapy skills. Gillian has additional qualifications in working with children and young people who have specific learning difficulties (such as Dyslexia) and English as an Additional Language. She is the author of ‘Goodbye Baby’ (a book for young children who have experienced the loss of a sibling) and the Counselling MindEd scoping report ‘Helpful and Unhelpful Factors in School-based Counselling: Clients’ Perspectives’. She has contributed to the book ‘Splitting Up: A Child’s Guide to a Grown Up Problem’.

Gillian now specialises in working with young people of secondary school age. She works from the ListenER room in Thornliebank and also offers counselling in the Luna Centre in Hairmyres, East Kilbride.
